The Northville-Placid Trail has been rerouted around an area of significant beaver flooding in the West Canada Lakes Wilderness area between West Lake and Mud Lake. Please follow all signs and trail markers.

Read on DEC's siteAccess to many popular destinations in the West Canada Lakes Wilderness from the Jessup River Road (Perkins Clearing) and Limekiln Lake-Cedar River Road (Moose River Plains Complex) is limited in off season months due to seasonal road closures. Motor vehicle access to the Spruce Lake Trailhead, Pillsbury Mountain/French Louie Trailhead, Brooktrout Lake Trailhead and others is prohibited.
